Household Survey on India's Citizen Environment and Consumer Economy

ICE 360° 2016 Survey

Objectives

  • To put more and more reliable and insightful people-level information into the public domain that helps in better business strategy development and public policy formulation.
  • Play a leading role in shining the light on issues that are unknown or a blind spot
  • To bring the ‘human face’ or people-centricity into India’s public policy debate and discourse, which today is mostly focussed on outlays and not outcomes and on macro-economic or supply side variables.
  • To make both Economic and Social well-being of Indian citizens the end goal of policy and business by encouraging government and corporate India to take note of people level data
  • To synchronise Indian Citizen Engagement with public policy.

Issues Covered

How Indian households earn (occupation details, income details), spend (routine and non routine expenditure items and amount), save and invest (penetration and value share of different modes), live (access to amenities), think (financial optimism, satisfaction with current levels of income, confidence in the future etc.), access welfare (welfare benefits claimed as eligible and received) and access infrastructure (physical and financial).
